Apartment living can be great just as it can also be challenging. There are ways to make it more convenient, from upgrading your kitchen cabinets to hold more, to finding creative laundry solutions for apartment living.
Speaking of laundry, here are 5 solutions for common issues doing laundry.
1. Where to hang laundry to dry?

Some apartments are in areas that getting to a laundromat just isn’t convenient. In these cases, it isn’t unusual to see people doing their laundry by hand and hanging it to dry. One drying technique is to pick up a laundry line at the store and tie one end high in the bathroom, possibly by installing a hook on the wall. Tie the other tightly to a hook on the opposite wall. Now you have a clothesline that you can hang several items to.
Along with a clothesline, if you purchase a foldable drying rack, you can place it in the bathroom along with the clothesline to add more wet clothing to. This will help with speeding up the drying process and is one of the perfect laundry solutions for apartment living.
2. If you use a laundromat spread out if possible

You have several loads to do, so why not use multiple washing machines? Unless the laundromat is busy, try getting as much done as you can. There is no reason to just use one machine. Make sure not to take up all of them but use a few to speed up your trip.
3. Learn to prepare your laundry at home

Presort your batches while in your apartment to save time at the laundry. It is possible that there is no room available for you to sort there, and it means you need to stay at the facility longer than you want to. While presorting, take the time to go through your pockets as well. A tube of lip balm can make a pretty big mess. A crayon your child snuck in can make a bigger one. Any stains should be pretreated while at home as well. Again, these tips will save time at the laundromat.
4. Take more change than you think you will need
You will end up either needing it for that last load that didn’t dry at all or buying a soda while sitting on the uncomfortable plastic chair wasting time doing a crossword puzzle. Make sure you bring something to entertain yourself with.
5. Fold your clothes right away
If the place isn’t busy, go ahead and fold everything as it comes out of the dryer. If it is busy, do it anyway. This is going to save you time when you get home, and the quicker you fold, the fewer wrinkles you will have to deal with later.
